Mapping Kaneaka, archeological site in Keauhou, Kona

Picture
We have the wonderful opportunity to work again this year with Hui Kaha Pohaku (Group That Draws the Placement of Stones) on the Kona side of our island. Students who have expressed interest in helping to map Kaneaka (the name of a 2-mile long holua slide) are heading to Kona several times this year. We are learning plane table mapping, camping overnight, and
absorbing so much from our aunties and uncles there at the Keauhou-Kahalu‘u
Education Group: Uncle Keone Kalawe, Uncle Mahealani Pai, Aunty Darlene Martin,
and Aunty Kalei Nuuhiwa We are so honored and excited to have this opportunity!
